Fighting Climate Change at Home

October 9, 2019

Many homeowners are asking what they can do at home to help fight climate change and reduce their home’s carbon footprint. For San Franciscans, one easy and inexpensive way to make a difference is to switch to the new SuperGreen program from CleanPowerSF. The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission started Clean Power Sf in 2016 as a not-for-profit, alternative power program that delivers electricity from more sustainable sources over the same PG & E lines that are connected to all SF homes. Currently, the Clean Power SF Green program produces 48% of the power provided from renewable sources. If you haven’t enrolled in the new Super Green program, this is where your power likely comes from. The new Super Green program provides power from 100% renewable wind power! On average, the Super Green 100% renewable power only costs an additional $3 per household per month. All you need to do to get that 100% renewable power is upgrade online here.

But San Francisco isn’t the only community providing greener energy alternatives. Check out the links below to programs from around the Bay.
