Significant Energy Rebates in San Francisco – Bay Area
Particularly for homebuyers, as well as individuals, seeking to make upgrades prior to the sale of a property, the Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN) Is offering significant rebates to single family, multiple unit and commercial property owners for the replacement of natural gas appliances with efficient all-electric units in San Francisco and the Bay Area. This includes water heaters, heating equipment, ranges and cooktops. The objective is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve indoor air quality, and to make homes safer.
Rebates up to the following amounts are available for water heater/heat pump ($1,000); Induction Cooktop ($750); Insulation ($1,000); Air sealing ($150); Duct Sealing or Replacement ($800); Heat Pumps – Ductless – Mini-split ($1,000); Dryer ($300); Air Conditioning ($800) Furnaces ($300) Tankless Water Heater ($400) …………..
The Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN) Home+ Program provides Bay Area single family homeowners with rebates and no-cost technical assistance for making energy efficiency improvements to the home. Eligible measures include insulation and air sealing, duct sealing/replacement, HVAC and water heating upgrades, switching gas appliances to efficient heat pumps, and more. Rebates reach up to $5,000 and depend on the scope of work. Work must be completed by a program participating contractor. Additional Energy Rebates – Marin (“Electrify Marin”)
In addition homeowners in Marin are being offered substantial additional rebates for the replacement of natural gas appliances with efficient all electric units.
Rebates are available for water heater/heat pump ($1,000 – $2,000); Central Heat Pump – Ducted ($1,000 – $2,000); Mini-split Heat Pump – Ductless ($800 – $1,600); Induction Range ($500); Induction Cooktop ($250); Service upgrade ($500 – 1,000).
In instances where installing a new electric appliance would require replacing the main electrical service panel additional rebates are available.
