Marin County Fair Announces In-Person Competitive Exhibit Categories
Most submissions will be open April 17 through June 5
San Rafael, CA – Calling all creative, talented, artistic, green-thumbed, and technologically savvy fairgoers: The Competitive Exhibits program will be back in person at the Marin County Fair this summer from June 30 through July 4. The popular program has only taken place online since 2019.
With the theme Electrifying!, this year’s fair will celebrate all things electric, solar, and charged with excitement and will offer many themed categories to inspire creativity of all kinds.
The categories will be announced on www.marinfair.org Friday, March 31, and will open for submissions on April 17. The deadline for submitting entry forms in most categories is June 5.
The Marin County Fair has had a long tradition of featuring hundreds of exhibit divisions, thousands of participants, and tens of thousands of entries ranging from performing arts to photography, and from fine wine to fine art. The Marin County Fair is award-winning for its innovative, creative, and inspired competitive exhibits program.
“The competitive exhibits program is the heart and soul of our fair,” Director of Cultural Services Gabriella Calicchio said. “We are absolutely thrilled to bring it back in person this year and look forward to seeing electrifying, super-charged, and inspired entries in all categories.
“Fairgoers come to our fair to see their neighbors’ creativity and talents and see the latest in new and innovative exhibits, and we can’t wait to showcase the talents of everyone in our community.”
Programs range from hip hop and international dance to fine arts and photography, to chickens and sheepdog trials, just to name a few. The fair is known for offering traditional and innovative competitive student exhibit categories and the juried Fine Arts, Crafts and Photography Show is considered by many to be the best among the 78 fairs in California.
